We offer cervical screening (it is sometimes called a smear test) as part of the national programme. All ladies between the ages of 25 to 50 years are offered a smear test every three years and ladies aged 50 to 64 years are offered a test every five years.
Smear tests are a way of identifying patients who may have changes in the cells of the cervix which could turn cancerous.
