(otherwise known as AAA Screening)
The NHS Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Screening Programme’s main aim is to reduce the number of deaths from ruptured AAAs.
We offer cervical screening (it is sometimes called a smear test) as part of the national programme. All ladies between the ages of 25 to 50 years are offered a smear test every three years and ladies aged 50 to 64 years are offered a test every five years.
Smear tests are a way of identifying patients who may have changes in the cells of the cervix which could turn cancerous.
If you are due a smear, please contact the reception to book an appointment with our practice nurse.
